Braking:
The optimized tread pattern ensures better interlocking with the snow which automatically leads to shorter braking distances. Additionally the tread grooves and shoulder blocks enhance the compression of snow in the grooves. Therefore the grip increases and also the traction in the snow.
Aquaplaning:
Through the wide grooves the water displacement is fine-tuned, which ensures high aquaplaning safety. Additionally, the 3D sipes support each other lead to higher stability. As a result the braking distances are shortened on wet roads.
Rolling resistance:
The new silica compound reduces energy loss and improves the rolling resistance.

Solid choice
For this price I didn't expect much, but the VanContact Winter genuinely surprised me. Does exactly what a winter tyre should.
Does what it says
For this price I didn't expect much, but the VanContact Winter genuinely surprised me. Felt secure on icy morning roads.
Does what it says
Grip in corners is reassuring and the steering feels a bit sharper than before. The car feels more stable in crosswinds since fitting these. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama.
Decent for the price
Had them fitted last month. Wet grip is confidence-inspiring and they look the part too. Had these through a full season now.
Solid winter tyre
Good value, though the sidewall is softer than my previous set. Slightly firmer ride than I expected.
Recommended
Brakes hard and straight, no pulling. Very reassuring. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama.
