XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.

A step up from my old set
Very quiet on tarmac. The Winter Sport 5 made my commute noticeably more relaxed. Brakes hard and straight, no pulling. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama.

Wet braking is excellent. Gave me real confidence on a flooded motorway stretch. Grip in corners is reassuring and the steering feels a bit sharper than before.

Reliable winter rubber
Fine for the price. Slightly more road noise than I hoped on coarse asphalt. Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate. Holds well in snow and slush. Nothing fancy, but fair for the price.
