What the tyre markings mean

M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

A step up from my old set
Fitted before a long road trip. Comfortable at motorway speeds and felt safe in heavy rain. Nice not having to swap tyres twice a year.

Fine tyre, minor niggles
Driven about 3,000 km on these so far. Wear looks even and grip is consistent. Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. Nice not having to swap tyres twice a year. Not the last word in steering feel.

Recommended
Second set of Uniroyal on this car. The last ones wore well, expecting the same here. Grip when pulling away on wet junctions is much better than my old tyres. Nice not having to swap tyres twice a year.
