What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

A step up from my old set
Second set of Austone on this car. The last ones wore well, expecting the same here. Holds well in snow and slush.

Good grip in the wet
Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in.

Very happy with these
Grip when pulling away on wet junctions is much better than my old tyres. Third car I've run on Austone.

Worth the money
Driven about 3,000 km on these so far. Wear looks even and grip is consistent.
