The new WinterContact TS 850 P is intended for use in the SUV / 4x4 and passenger car segments. Passenger cars and SUVs are normally driven under the same operating conditions. For this reason, products with similar requirement profiles for passenger cars and SUVs are combined in one product line. If a tyre dimension is primarily used for SUVs, it is labelled on the sidewall.

Continental delivers again
Handles standing water better than my previous set. Feel much safer in autumn rain. Second set of Continental on this car.
Solid winter tyre
They're okay. Comfortable enough, but I expected a bit sharper turn-in. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama.
Handles well
Very quiet on tarmac. The WinterContact TS 850 P SSR made my commute noticeably more relaxed.
Decent for the price
Good value, though the sidewall is softer than my previous set. My mechanic recommended Continental and he was right.
Fine tyre, minor niggles
A sensible buy. Not sporty, but safe and quiet. Good in town and on the motorway alike. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama.
Recommended
Ride comfort is the standout. Long journeys feel less tiring now. Switched from a budget brand to the WinterContact TS 850 P SSR — the difference in braking is obvious. Holds well in snow and slush.
