What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Steering response improved straight away after fitting. Very pleased. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring.

Great value for money
Driven about 3,000 km on these so far. Wear looks even and grip is consistent. Good value, though the sidewall is softer than my previous set. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring. Not the last word in steering feel.

Grip when pulling away on wet junctions is much better than my old tyres. For this price I didn't expect much, but the Solus 4S HA32 genuinely surprised me.
