What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.

Fuel consumption seems slightly better since the switch. Tyres themselves are great. Good summer tyre for the money. Stable and precise in summer heat.

Fitted before a long road trip. Comfortable at motorway speeds and felt safe in heavy rain. Bought a full set of Berlin Tires for the family car. No squirm even on hot asphalt. Not the last word in steering feel.
