What the tyre markings mean

M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Solid all-season tyre
Ride comfort is the standout. Long journeys feel less tiring now. Grip in corners is reassuring and the steering feels a bit sharper than before. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring. Took a few hundred km to bed in.

Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate. Nice not having to swap tyres twice a year.

Pleasantly surprised
Steering response improved straight away after fitting. Very pleased. Fuel consumption seems slightly better since the switch. Could be a touch quieter on rough tarmac.
