Description

ContiSportContact™ 5 – safe performance for high performance cars, giving maximum fun at the wheel.

It is the latest development from the experts at Continental. A high performance tyre that combines maximum safety and driving pleasure for sporty, tuning vehicles.

Grip:

The ContiSportContact™ 5 adapts to the road surface, giving improved grip and handling when accelerating and cornering.

Braking:

Featuring Black Chilli Technology, the ContiSportContact™ 5 is reactive, giving shorter braking distances on wet and dry roads.

Mileage:

The unique tyre composition guarantees considerably reduced rolling resistance – for higher mileage and reduced fuel consumption.

The tyre features the SSR system (Self-Supporting Run-Flat Tyre). Should a puncture occur, you can continue to drive up to 80 kilometres, at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, by modifying your driving style. Only possible with a functionable air pressure check system.

Shorter braking distances in all weather conditions
Superb road grip and handling with safety when cornering
Reduced fuel consumption and high mileage

What the tyre markings mean

RFT: Run-flat technologyReinforced sidewalls can permit limited continued driving after a loss of pressure. The permitted speed and distance depend on the manufacturer; a pressure monitoring system is normally required.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Solid summer tyre
Fitted before a long road trip. Comfortable at motorway speeds and felt safe in heavy rain. The car feels more stable in crosswinds since fitting these. No squirm even on hot asphalt.

Fine tyre, minor niggles
Balanced and predictable. Exactly how a tyre should feel. Brakes hard and straight, no pulling.

Quiet and comfortable
Good in town and on the motorway alike. Versatile tyre. Fine for the price. Took a few hundred km to bed in.

Very happy with these
Put these on two months ago and the car feels noticeably more planted. The SportContact 5 SSR grips well on dry roads.

Good grip in the wet
Ride comfort is the standout. Long journeys feel less tiring now. Stable and precise in summer heat.
