VanContact™ Winter – for vans, transporters and mobile homes.

Braking:

The optimised tread pattern ensures better interlocking with the snow which automatically leads to shorter braking distances. Additionally the tread grooves and shoulder blocks enhance the compression of snow in the grooves. Therefore the grip increases and also the traction in the snow.

Aquaplaning:

Through the wide grooves the water displacement is optimised, which guarantees high aquaplaning safety. Additionally, the 3D sipes support each other lead to higher stability. As a result the braking distances are shortened on wet roads.

Rolling resistance:

The new silica compound reduces energy loss and improves the rolling resistance.

What the tyre markings mean

M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.

Great on the motorway
Good value, though the sidewall is softer than my previous set. Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate.

A step up from my old set
Put these on two months ago and the car feels noticeably more planted. The VanContact Winter grips well on dry roads. Nothing fancy, but fair for the price.
