What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Fine tyre, minor niggles
They're okay. Comfortable enough, but I expected a bit sharper turn-in. Switched from a budget brand to the Medallion All Season ACP1 — the difference in braking is obvious. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring.

Would recommend to anyone after a dependable all-season tyre without overspending. Slightly firmer ride than I expected.

Wet braking is excellent. Gave me real confidence on a flooded motorway stretch. Braking in the wet feels a touch longer than my old premium set, but at this price it's fair. Nice not having to swap tyres twice a year.

Put these on two months ago and the car feels noticeably more planted. The Medallion All Season ACP1 grips well on dry roads. They're okay. Not the last word in steering feel.
