What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Smooth ride
Fitted them at a mate's garage. Straightforward job and they've been faultless since. My mechanic recommended Falken and he was right. Took a few hundred km to bed in.

Decent for the price
The car feels more stable in crosswinds since fitting these. Holds well in snow and slush. Not the last word in steering feel.

Would buy again
For this price I didn't expect much, but the Eurowinter HS02 PRO genuinely surprised me. Good value, though the sidewall is softer than my previous set. Felt secure on icy morning roads.
