What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Decent tyre at a fair price. Tread pattern clears water well. Nothing fancy, but fair for the price.

Balanced and predictable. Exactly how a tyre should feel. Felt secure on icy morning roads.

Solid choice
Bought a full set of Falken for the family car. Comfortable ride and no drama in the rain. Solid everyday tyre. Holds well in snow and slush. Could be a touch quieter on rough tarmac.

Quiet and comfortable
Fuel consumption seems slightly better since the switch. Tyres themselves are great.

Quiet and comfortable
Second set of Falken on this car. The last ones wore well, expecting the same here. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama.

Great on the motorway
Solid everyday tyre. Nothing flashy, but it does everything I ask of it. Handles standing water better than my previous set.
