What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Would buy again
Handles standing water better than my previous set. Feel much safer in autumn rain. Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in.

Okay for everyday driving
Had these through a full season now. Wear is minimal and performance hasn't dropped. Decent tyre at a fair price. Holds well in snow and slush. Took a few hundred km to bed in.

Very happy with these
Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. Could be a touch quieter on rough tarmac.

Strong performer
Ride comfort is the standout. Long journeys feel less tiring now. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama.

No complaints so far
Third car I've run on Falken. Consistent quality every time. Handles standing water better than my previous set. Felt secure on icy morning roads.
