What the tyre markings mean

M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Fitted and forgotten
Switched from a budget brand to the Eurowinter VAN01 — the difference in braking is obvious. Put these on two months ago and the car feels noticeably more planted. Not the last word in steering feel.

Great on the motorway
Wet braking is excellent. Gave me real confidence on a flooded motorway stretch. Good value, though the sidewall is softer than my previous set. Not the last word in steering feel.
