What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Quality you can feel
My mechanic recommended Firestone and he was right. Quiet, stable, no complaints. Stable and precise in summer heat.

Happy with the purchase
Fuel consumption seems slightly better since the switch. Tyres themselves are great.

Impressed so far
Good in town and on the motorway alike. Versatile tyre. Solid everyday tyre. No squirm even on hot asphalt. Not the last word in steering feel.

Okay for everyday driving
Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in.

Good grip in the wet
For this price I didn't expect much, but the Roadhawk 2 genuinely surprised me. Good in town and on the motorway alike.
