What the tyre markings mean

M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Braking in the wet feels a touch longer than my old premium set, but at this price it's fair. Fitted them at a mate's garage. No squirm even on hot asphalt. Took a few hundred km to bed in.

Put these on two months ago and the car feels noticeably more planted. The CW51 grips well on dry roads. No squirm even on hot asphalt.
