Its asymmetric pattern makes the Winter Defender a genuine all-rounder. The asymmetric tread pattern is divided into two elements: The inner area efficiently drains the water while the outer area with its large, robust tread blocks guarantees high grip in the snow.

Reliable winter rubber
Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. Could be a touch quieter on rough tarmac.

Fair tyre for the money
Fitted before a long road trip. Comfortable at motorway speeds and felt safe in heavy rain. Wet braking is excellent.

Had them fitted last month. Wet grip is confidence-inspiring and they look the part too. Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate.
