What the tyre markings mean

M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Fair tyre for the money
Bought a full set of Matador for the family car. Comfortable ride and no drama in the rain. Switched from a budget brand to the MP93 Nordicca — the difference in braking is obvious. Holds well in snow and slush.

No complaints so far
Comfortable over rough surfaces. My old set used to thump over every bump. Bought on price, staying for the quality. Felt secure on icy morning roads.

Pleasantly surprised
Had these through a full season now. Wear is minimal and performance hasn't dropped. Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama.
