What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Good grip in the wet
Put these on two months ago and the car feels noticeably more planted. The MP93 Nordicca grips well on dry roads. Good value, though the sidewall is softer than my previous set. Holds well in snow and slush. Nothing fancy, but fair for the price.

Quality you can feel
Comfortable over rough surfaces. My old set used to thump over every bump. Had these through a full season now.

Matador delivers again
Grip in corners is reassuring and the steering feels a bit sharper than before. Nothing fancy, but fair for the price.

Good balance of comfort and handling. Would buy again. Braking in the wet feels a touch longer than my old premium set, but at this price it's fair.
