What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.

Strong performer
Fuel consumption seems slightly better since the switch. Tyres themselves are great. Nice not having to swap tyres twice a year. Slightly firmer ride than I expected.

Good grip in the wet
Ordered online, fitted locally. The tyres themselves have been faultless so far. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring. Could be a touch quieter on rough tarmac.

Okay for everyday driving
Very quiet on tarmac. The Primacy Tour A/S made my commute noticeably more relaxed. Steering response improved straight away after fitting. Took a few hundred km to bed in.
