As a summer tyre, the Roadian 542 is tuned for warm conditions: a firm tread compound and a pattern built for stable dry handling and short braking distances. On wet roads the grooves channel water away quickly to keep the contact patch working.

    Confidence in corners

    Braking in the wet feels a touch longer than my old premium set, but at this price it's fair. A sensible buy. Stable and precise in summer heat.

    Does what it says

    Fine for the price. Slightly more road noise than I hoped on coarse asphalt. Switched from a budget brand to the Roadian 542 — the difference in braking is obvious.
