What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.

Quiet and comfortable
The car feels more stable in crosswinds since fitting these. Ordered online, fitted locally. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring.

Smooth ride
Good tyre overall. Would have liked a bit more feedback through the steering. A sensible buy. Nice not having to swap tyres twice a year.

Better than expected
Decent tyre at a fair price. Tread pattern clears water well. Balanced and predictable.

All-round good pick
Switched from a budget brand to the Seasonproof 2 — the difference in braking is obvious.

Good all-rounder
Good in town and on the motorway alike. Versatile tyre.

Decent for the price
Third car I've run on Nokian Tyres. Consistent quality every time. Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in.
