What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Nice upgrade
They're okay. Comfortable enough, but I expected a bit sharper turn-in. Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate. Stable and precise in summer heat.

Fitted them at a mate's garage. Straightforward job and they've been faultless since. Good value, though the sidewall is softer than my previous set. Slightly firmer ride than I expected.
