What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Confidence in corners
Comfortable over rough surfaces. My old set used to thump over every bump.

Okay for everyday driving
Handles standing water better than my previous set. Feel much safer in autumn rain. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama.

Impressed so far
Put these on two months ago and the car feels noticeably more planted. The Bluewin HP grips well on dry roads.

No complaints so far
Fine for the price. Slightly more road noise than I hoped on coarse asphalt. Put these on two months ago and the car feels noticeably more planted. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama.

Smooth ride
Fitted them at a mate's garage. Straightforward job and they've been faultless since.
