M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Good all-rounder
Put these on two months ago and the car feels noticeably more planted. The Merkep 2X AW grips well on dry roads. For this price I didn't expect much, but the Merkep 2X AW genuinely surprised me.

Recommended
Switched from a budget brand to the Merkep 2X AW — the difference in braking is obvious. Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate. Took a few hundred km to bed in.
