Description

The Toyo Proxes R54A in size 225/55 R17 97V is one of our passenger car summer tyres.

Quiet ride with an external rolling noise of just 69 dB

All-round good pick
Fine for the price. Slightly more road noise than I hoped on coarse asphalt. Grip in corners is reassuring and the steering feels a bit sharper than before.

Fine tyre, minor niggles
Ride comfort is the standout. Long journeys feel less tiring now. Comfortable over rough surfaces. Stable and precise in summer heat.

Quality you can feel
Bought on price, staying for the quality. The Proxes R54A punches above its weight. Fuel consumption seems slightly better since the switch. No squirm even on hot asphalt. Could be a touch quieter on rough tarmac.

Impressed so far
Balanced and predictable. Exactly how a tyre should feel. Braking in the wet feels a touch longer than my old premium set, but at this price it's fair.

Braking feels secure
Good summer tyre for the money. Rolling noise is low and braking feels predictable. They're okay.

Fair tyre for the money
Third car I've run on Toyo. Consistent quality every time. No squirm even on hot asphalt.
