What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Worth the money
Wet braking is excellent. Gave me real confidence on a flooded motorway stretch. Second set of Uniroyal on this car. Nothing fancy, but fair for the price.

Reliable winter rubber
Second set of Uniroyal on this car. The last ones wore well, expecting the same here. Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate.

Very happy with these
Solid everyday tyre. Nothing flashy, but it does everything I ask of it. Nothing fancy, but fair for the price.

Braking feels secure
Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate. Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama.
