What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Trusted Yokohama quality
Comfortable over rough surfaces. My old set used to thump over every bump.

Quality you can feel
Bought a full set of Yokohama for the family car. Comfortable ride and no drama in the rain. Grip when pulling away on wet junctions is much better than my old tyres.

Very happy with these
Bought a full set of Yokohama for the family car. Comfortable ride and no drama in the rain. Felt secure on icy morning roads. Not the last word in steering feel.

Solid choice
Good tyre overall. Would have liked a bit more feedback through the steering. Holds well in snow and slush.

Quiet and comfortable
Driven about 3,000 km on these so far. Wear looks even and grip is consistent.

Does what it says
Would recommend to anyone after a dependable winter tyre without overspending.
