What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

All-round good pick
Fitted them at a mate's garage. Straightforward job and they've been faultless since. Braking in the wet feels a touch longer than my old premium set, but at this price it's fair. Holds well in snow and slush.

Reliable winter rubber
Third car I've run on Yokohama. Consistent quality every time. The car feels more stable in crosswinds since fitting these.

Grip when pulling away on wet junctions is much better than my old tyres.

For this price I didn't expect much, but the BluEarth-Winter (V905) genuinely surprised me. Good balance of comfort and handling. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama.

Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. Had them fitted last month.

Great value for money
Grip in corners is reassuring and the steering feels a bit sharper than before. They're okay.
