What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Good, not perfect
Wet braking is excellent. Gave me real confidence on a flooded motorway stretch. Stable and precise in summer heat. Took a few hundred km to bed in.

Smooth ride
Early days, but first impressions are very good. Smooth and quiet. No squirm even on hot asphalt.

Fine tyre, minor niggles
Good value, though the sidewall is softer than my previous set. Early days, but first impressions are very good. Stable and precise in summer heat. Took a few hundred km to bed in.

Quiet and comfortable
Good summer tyre for the money. Rolling noise is low and braking feels predictable. Fitted them at a mate's garage.

Very happy with these
My mechanic recommended Aptany and he was right. Quiet, stable, no complaints. Switched from a budget brand to the RW211 — the difference in braking is obvious. No squirm even on hot asphalt.
