What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Fitted and forgotten
Handles standing water better than my previous set. Feel much safer in autumn rain. Had these through a full season now. Stable and precise in summer heat.

No complaints so far
Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. No squirm even on hot asphalt.

Braking feels secure
Ordered online, fitted locally. The tyres themselves have been faultless so far. Steering response improved straight away after fitting.

A step up from my old set
Fine for the price. Slightly more road noise than I hoped on coarse asphalt.

Switched from a budget brand to the Turanza 6 EXT — the difference in braking is obvious. Stable and precise in summer heat.
