With the new UltraContact, Continental therefore now offers a summer tyre with very high mileage and the usual safety standards. To achieve this, the tyre developers have redesigned the compound and tread to combine maximum mileage with safe driving characteristics, low rolling resistance and low noise emission.
What the tyre markings mean

- Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
- EV

Does what it says
Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. No squirm even on hot asphalt. Nothing fancy, but fair for the price.
