VanContact™ Winter – for vans, transporters and mobile homes.

Braking:

The optimised tread pattern ensures better interlocking with the snow which automatically leads to shorter braking distances. Additionally the tread grooves and shoulder blocks enhance the compression of snow in the grooves. Therefore the grip increases and also the traction in the snow.

Aquaplaning:

Through the wide grooves the water displacement is optimised, which guarantees high aquaplaning safety. Additionally, the 3D sipes support each other lead to higher stability. As a result the braking distances are shortened on wet roads.

Rolling resistance:

The new silica compound reduces energy loss and improves the rolling resistance.

What the tyre markings mean

M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.

Handles well
Driven about 3,000 km on these so far. Wear looks even and grip is consistent. Grip when pulling away on wet junctions is much better than my old tyres. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama.

A sensible buy. Not sporty, but safe and quiet. Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. Took a few hundred km to bed in.

Strong performer
For this price I didn't expect much, but the VanContact Winter genuinely surprised me. Braking in the wet feels a touch longer than my old premium set, but at this price it's fair.
