With the new WinterContact™ TS 870 P, we are introducing the next generation of our high-performance winter tyre in the 16 to 22 inch range for saloons and SUVs. Control in all weather conditions and economic benefits we achieve with improvements in:

Wet performance, especially aquaplaning
Performance on snow and ice
Mileage and rolling resistance

What the tyre markings mean

M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.
Seal: Self-sealing technologyA sealing layer inside the tyre can close certain small punctures in the tread area. Its limits vary by manufacturer and a damaged tyre should still be inspected.

A step up from my old set
Handles standing water better than my previous set. Feel much safer in autumn rain. Good value, though the sidewall is softer than my previous set. Slightly firmer ride than I expected.
