What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Braking feels secure
Handles standing water better than my previous set. Feel much safer in autumn rain. Good value, though the sidewall is softer than my previous set.

Nice upgrade
Does the job, nothing more. For daily commuting it's perfectly fine. Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. Nice not having to swap tyres twice a year.

Third car I've run on CST. Consistent quality every time. Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate. Nice not having to swap tyres twice a year. Not the last word in steering feel.
