What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Fine tyre, minor niggles
Does the job, nothing more. For daily commuting it's perfectly fine. Bought on price, staying for the quality. Took a few hundred km to bed in.

Fitted and forgotten
Good balance of comfort and handling. Would buy again. Bought a full set of Falken for the family car. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring.
