What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Great on the motorway
Switched from a budget brand to the Euroallseason AS-220 PRO — the difference in braking is obvious. Good all-season tyre for the money. Nice not having to swap tyres twice a year. Took a few hundred km to bed in.

Braking in the wet feels a touch longer than my old premium set, but at this price it's fair. Grip in corners is reassuring and the steering feels a bit sharper than before. Nothing fancy, but fair for the price.
