High traction and comfort on all surfaces
With the Grabber Cross A/S, the traditional American brand General Tire has launched an all-season tyre that combines safe driving in summer and winter with off-road capability. Under the slogan ‘Beyond the road’, this robust 4x4 tyre offers good handling on asphalt, protection against aquaplaning, safe driving in both warm and cold weather, high mileage and good off-road traction.
To achieve exceptional handling performance on all surfaces, General Tire opted for a combination of a stiff tread and a cut- and chip-resistant rubber compound when developing the Grabber Cross A/S.
For use on dry roads, the tyre developers have integrated support elements between the blocks, which make the tread particularly stiff and guarantee dependable performance. This design also guarantees even pressure distribution. This not only allows steering commands to be implemented precisely, but also means that longer distances can be covered at higher speeds without compromising mileage. Further advantages include driving comfort and low rolling noise even at high mileage.
Hexagonal blocks with gripping edges guarantee traction on loose surfaces. The edges of the tread grooves are bevelled, which further improves performance on off-road terrain. In addition, the Grabber Cross A/S features a particularly cut- and chip-resistant crossover rubber compound that increases the tyre's robustness on rough terrain. Transverse and longitudinal sipes in the tread blocks guarantee good grip on wet and snow-covered roads, while the open tyre shoulder accelerates water displacement when driving in the rain, thus preventing aquaplaning efficiently and safely.

Pleasantly surprised
Brakes hard and straight, no pulling. Very reassuring. Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring.
Does what it says
Good in town and on the motorway alike. Versatile tyre.
Fine tyre, minor niggles
Grip when pulling away on wet junctions is much better than my old tyres. Not the last word in steering feel.
Fair tyre for the money
Reliable all-season rubber. No surprises, which is exactly what I want. Early days, but first impressions are very good.
Solid choice
Grip when pulling away on wet junctions is much better than my old tyres. Nice not having to swap tyres twice a year.
