What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Good, not perfect
Good all-season tyre for the money. Rolling noise is low and braking feels predictable. Bought on price, staying for the quality. Not the last word in steering feel.

Decent for the price
Bought a full set of Kumho for the family car. Comfortable ride and no drama in the rain. Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring.

Reliable all-season rubber
Second set of Kumho on this car. The last ones wore well, expecting the same here. Braking in the wet feels a touch longer than my old premium set, but at this price it's fair.
