What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Handles well
Steering response improved straight away after fitting. Very pleased. Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. Felt secure on icy morning roads.

Strong performer
Switched from a budget brand to the MP93 Nordicca — the difference in braking is obvious. Bought on price, staying for the quality. Took a few hundred km to bed in.

Decent tyre at a fair price. Tread pattern clears water well. Grip when pulling away on wet junctions is much better than my old tyres. Felt secure on icy morning roads.
