What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Very happy with these
Very quiet on tarmac. The PL02 made my commute noticeably more relaxed. Does exactly what a summer tyre should. Nothing fancy, but fair for the price.

Braking in the wet feels a touch longer than my old premium set, but at this price it's fair. Fitted them at a mate's garage. Could be a touch quieter on rough tarmac.
