Yokohama BluEarth-AllSeason2 – when reliability and safety matter most
The new tyre was developed using AI and simulation technologies based on Yokohama Rubber’s proprietary AI utilisation framework, HAICoLab(*1). By using AI to predict tread patterns and structural properties, Yokohama Rubber has developed a special tread pattern that increases the tyre’s contact area by 5 per cent compared with the previous model, thereby improving driving stability and grip. The BluEarth-AllSeason2 is also the first YOKOHAMA all-season tyre to be developed using the company’s proprietary winter tyre technology concept, COLD TECH(*2), which improves power on snow by ensuring more stable surface contact.
The special tread pattern features symmetrical V-shaped grooves that ensure outstanding water drainage, thereby improving the tyres’ stability on wet roads whilst ensuring the edge effect on snow. Furthermore, optimally positioned crank sipes and 3D sipes further enhance the tyres’ edge effect on snow and suppress block deformation, thereby improving traction during acceleration and when cornering. The tyre compound contains a high proportion of silica, made possible by the use of A.R.T. compounding technology developed by Yokohama Rubber. This significantly improves the dispersibility of silica, increasing the compound’s contact points on wet roads by 40 per cent and markedly improving the tyres’ wet grip. Another distinctive feature of the BluEarth-AllSeason2 is the optimal use of lightweight steel belts in the tyre structure, which reduces rolling resistance by 8 per cent.
