What the tyre markings mean

M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Happy with the purchase
Fuel consumption seems slightly better since the switch. Tyres themselves are great. Second set of Yokohama on this car. Stable and precise in summer heat.

A step up from my old set
Put these on two months ago and the car feels noticeably more planted. The Geolandar A/T G015 grips well on dry roads.

Does the job well
Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. Fitted them at a mate's garage. No squirm even on hot asphalt.
