What the tyre markings mean

M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Braking feels secure
Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate.

Solid choice
Bought a full set of Yokohama for the family car. Comfortable ride and no drama in the rain. Braking in the wet feels a touch longer than my old premium set, but at this price it's fair. Stable and precise in summer heat.
