What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Solid all-season tyre
Does the job, nothing more. For daily commuting it's perfectly fine. The car feels more stable in crosswinds since fitting these. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring.

Decent for the price
Bought on price, staying for the quality. The Alnac 4G All Season punches above its weight. For this price I didn't expect much, but the Alnac 4G All Season genuinely surprised me. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring. Slightly firmer ride than I expected.
