M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Fuel consumption seems slightly better since the switch. Tyres themselves are great. Bought on price, staying for the quality. Nice not having to swap tyres twice a year. Slightly firmer ride than I expected.
