Description

Growth for the WinterContact™ family

With the new WinterContact™ TS 870 P, we are introducing the next generation of our high-performance winter tyre in the 16 to 22 inch range for saloons and SUVs. Control in all weather conditions and economic benefits we achieve with improvements in:

Wet performance, especially aquaplaning
Mileage and rolling resistance
Performance on snow and ice

What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Solid choice
Grip in corners is reassuring and the steering feels a bit sharper than before. Good winter tyre for the money. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama.

No complaints so far
Very quiet on tarmac. The WinterContact TS 870 P made my commute noticeably more relaxed. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama. Nothing fancy, but fair for the price.
