What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Good, not perfect
My mechanic recommended Falken and he was right. Quiet, stable, no complaints. Comfortable over rough surfaces.

Quality you can feel
Good winter tyre for the money. Rolling noise is low and braking feels predictable.

Worth the money
Had them fitted last month. Wet grip is confidence-inspiring and they look the part too. Wet braking is excellent. Took a few hundred km to bed in.

Trusted Falken quality
Good value, though the sidewall is softer than my previous set. Fine for the price. Felt secure on icy morning roads. Slightly firmer ride than I expected.

Smooth ride
Second set of Falken on this car. The last ones wore well, expecting the same here. Balanced and predictable. Felt secure on icy morning roads.
