What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Great on the motorway
Decent tyre at a fair price. Tread pattern clears water well.

Falken delivers again
Comfortable over rough surfaces. My old set used to thump over every bump. Balanced and predictable. Holds well in snow and slush.

Early days, but first impressions are very good. Smooth and quiet.

Solid winter tyre
Switched from a budget brand to the Eurowinter HS02 PRO — the difference in braking is obvious. Steering response improved straight away after fitting. Felt secure on icy morning roads.
